Beirut Chamber introduces Pilot Program Using Simulators for Training 120 Truck Drivers
Within the framework of the EU-funded Techlog project, The Chamber of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, in partnership with the American University of Technology, has recently rolled out pilot actions on truck driving simulators. This initiative, launched in mid-October, is in collaboration with Coral Petroleum Company, IPT(ISSA Petrol Trade), UTS(Union Transport Services) and many others
Over the course of the project, 120 truck drivers from the combined fleets of these three entities started training sessions. The core focus areas of these sessions include eco-driving, road safety, and strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
The Chamber and AUT teams have been actively engaging with the transport industry through regular roundtable discussions. These discussions aim to pinpoint the unique needs of companies when it comes to training their drivers. By doing so, the project endeavors to address both the concerns and objectives of companies within the transport sector.
This initiative aligns seamlessly with the technology transfer goals of the Techlog project. Over the next two months, data will be meticulously collected, culminating in an in-depth analysis of the impact these pilot trainings have on Lebanon's transport industry.
