Within the framework of Egypt International Logistics Forum in Cairo, a Memorandum of Understanding pertaining to OPTIMED project was signed by ASCAME, Chamber of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, Federation of Egyptian Chambers and various active logistic and transport stakeholders.

The objective of Optimed project is the development of ports on the north-western and south-eastern coasts of the Mediterranean Sea, which are facing significant pressures related to the process of globalization, increased international trade, and modern consumer and production patterns, in addition to the development of maritime network connecting these ports together. Optimed partners include the Autonomous Region of Sardinia (RAS), Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, University of Cagliari (CIREM), ASCAME, Port Authority of Olibia and Golfo Aranci, and European Short Sea Shipping School.”
